A rustic late 19th Century ‘battle scared’ campaign chest with some wonderful provenance and equally wonderful patina, a colourful past and present if you like!

The Trunk belonged to a ‘Frederick W. Barrett of the 15th Kings Hussars Regiment’ who began polo whilst his regiment was in India 1902. He then went on to play polo for the England polo team in 1914 and won the Roehampton Trophy for polo in 1919. He also competed for the GB Polo Team at the 1920 summer Olympics in Antwerp.

On leaving the army, Barrett trained horses and his horse Annandale won the Scottish Grand National in 1931 - Quite a legacy I’d say!!
